Emergencies: Go Bag Checklist

Keep the following items ready to go in a backpack. Make sure you have information and supplies for every member of your family.

Information & Records

• Emergency contact info (important phone numbers)
• Medical, insurance, legal and financial records
• Identification (license, passport or social security card)
• Money and credit/debit cards

Supplies

• Food and water
• First aid kit
• Medication (prescription and non-prescription)
• Personal hygiene items
• Flashlight (with extra batteries)
• Extra keys (to your house and car)
• Clothing (especially waterproof jackets and sturdy shoes)
• Blankets or sleeping bags
• For children: diapers, medicine special foods, entertainment
• Cell phone (or walkie talkie)
• Tool kit (waterproof matches, duct tape, scissors, flares, pen, notepad, garbage bags, bleach)
